Zdravím Shibalba! Pro začátek mně neznalému prozraďte, kdo stál za projektem Shibalba a co se ukrývá za názvem?

Zdravím tě! Jméno Shibalba může být snadno přeloženo a vysvětleno, protože to značí starobylé podsvětí Xibalbu, jádro konceptu mayského náboženství a archetyp v mnoha tradicích. Ačkoliv by bylo dobré omezit spojení mezi jménem a skupinou pouze jedním vysvětlením, protože jsme se změnili v plavidlo pro zvukové cesty bez omezení.

Vznikají skladby během meditativní seance? Vybízí mě k tomu pohled na použité nástroje, jako jsou tibetské rohy, zvonky, darbuka atd. Jste sběratelé podobných nástrojů a učili jste se na ně hrát, nebo vám šlo vše přirozeně od srdce?

Rozhodně, hudební tvoření navazuje na určitý meditativní stav, kdy veškerá inspirace protéká inovativně a instinktivně a vytváří hudební výsledek. Takové nástroje, pocházející ze všech koutů světa, shromažďujeme pro hudební a spirituální účely. Hlavně, manipulace s těmito nástroji vychází ze zkušenosti a oddanosti tomu, co ve skutečnosti reprezentují, tato oblast má malý význam pro technické detaily a více zdůrazňuje sentiment a auru.

Povězte mi, jak dlouho vám trvalo vymyslet a natočit Psychostasis - Death Of Khat?

Čas je relativní, když jde o tvorbu. K diskusi nad rámec tohoto bodu není dostatek místa, protože nenastavujeme žádné standardy pro nahrávání před skutečnou praxí. Samotný materiál je vystaven na způsobeném stavu a takto je vytesán do konečného výsledku.

Můžete nám rozvést duchovní koncept Psychostasis - Death Of Khat?

V rámci alba otevírá tajná společnost Shibalba transparentní vyrovnání se smrtí a transcendenci vyššího já. Vědomá duše vytvoří most mezi světy, aby se spojila s věčností. Naše fyzická nádoba, naše Khat, je pouze prostředkem k dosažení duchovního a intelektuálního osvícení. Duše a inteligence nesídlí na věčnosti. Rozděleni jsme ve smrti Khat před psychostázou.

Překvapilo mě, že vystupujete na metalových akcích. Dostalo se vám kladného přijetí nebo jste zaregistrovali i určité nepochopení? Přece jen je vaše hudba podaná v odlišných vibracích, než i tak dost esotericky hluboký Acherontas.

Vždy jsme mysleli jinak než je obvyklé. Být součástí a vystupovat na metalových akcích bylo pro nás i publikum výzvou s plodnými výsledky. Doposud jsou všechny reakce silné, jsme velice spokojeni, protože vše funguje nad očekávání výborně.

Existují inspirační vlivy nebo se rádi noříte do svých niter a na okolí nehledíte?

Naše vlivy jsou nekonečné v dark ambientu/ritual ambientu/klasické hudbě a elektronické/drone scéně, ale fungují pro nás jen jako aditivní zkušenost a saturace naší vize. Upřednostňujeme ponoření se do naší psyché a čerpáme inspiraci z vyšších úkolů, které jsme si vybrali k provedení a dokončení, považujeme hudbu za pokračování duchovní praxe a završení cesty.

Jsem zamilován do vašeho front coveru. Vlastně ani nevím, jestli jsem se snažil pochopit, co se na obrázku děje. Jen jsem na něj zíral a poslouchal vaše album. Co znázorňuje postava stojící na černém slunci?

Jak bylo řečeno a uvedeno výše, nepřáli bychom si, aby detaily a estetika překonaly lyrické aspekty alba, protože by to rušilo posluchačův zážitek. Neexistuje žádné jednoduché vysvětlení a žádná alegorie v okultní vědě a duchovních skutcích, posluchač by měl prožít celé album jako jednu dýchací entitu, poslouchat a číst, prohlížet a prožívat, aby si udělal vlastní názor.

Novinka vychází na různých formátech v čele s limitovanými vinylovými edicemi. Samozřejmostí je i krásný merchandise. Jste milovníci podobných fetišů, nebo je to práce spíše Agonia Records?

Všechno se stane konečným a dostane formu poté, co schválíme a poskytneme osobní stigma výsledku. Naše spolupráce s Agonia Records je fantastická, jelikož dali formu naši vizi s luxusním vydáním všech formátů.

Existuje nějaké příště nebo nic neplánujete a necháváte vše vyplynout z momentální vášně?

Jediným pevným plánem je vytvářet a materializovat naši vizi, rozhledy a myšlenky a činit tak i nadále. V našich nahrávkách, živých rituálech a spolupracích budeme neustále směrovat Vyšší umění k vnitřnímu Ohni a budeme vzdávat úctu pramenům, že nás inspirují.

Greetings, Shibalba! First of all, could you tell the uninitiated who stood behind Shibalba and what is hidden behind the bandname?

Greetings! The name of Shibalba could be easily translated and explained, since it denotes the ancient Underworld of Xibalba, a core concept of the Mayan religion and an archetype within many traditions. Although, it would be vein to limit the perspectives behind the name and the band with just one explanation, since we have transformed into a vessel for limitless aural journeys.

Are the compositions created during meditative seances? Certain instruments such as Tibetan horns, bells, darbukas let me to think so. Also, are you the collectors of such instruments and did you teach yourselves how to play them properly? Or does everything flow from the bottom of your hearts?

Definitely, the musical creation follows up a certain meditative state, where all the inspiration flows innovative and instinctively giving form to the musical result. We have been collecting such instruments for musical and spiritual purposes, coming from every corner of the globe. Mainly, the handling of those instruments come out of experience and dedication to the current they represent, this field bears little significance to the technical details and emphasizes more to the sentiment and aura.

Tell me, how long did take you to create and record Psychostasis – Death of Khat?

Time is relative when it comes down to creation. There is little room for discussion beyond that point, since we do not set any standards for recording from before the actual praxis. The material itself is built up on the inflicted spiritual state and is carved that way into the final result.

Could you elaborate on the spiritual concept of Psychostasis – Death of Khat?

Within this album, Τhe secret society of Shibalba inaugurate the transparent alignment beyond death and the transcendence of the Higher Self. The conscious pneuma transposes the bridge among worlds to unite Now with Forever. Our physical vessel, our Khat, is only the conduit for the attainment of spiritual and intellectual enlightenment. Soul and intelligence does not reside in the estates of the everlasting. Divided we are at the death of Khat, before Psychostasis.

I found it surprising that you perform live at metal events. Do you receive positive reactions or have you met with some misunderstanding? After all, your music with Shibalba presents a different vibes than Acherontas who are already profoundly esoteric.

We have always been thinking beyond the ordinary. Being part and performing into a metal event was a challenge for us and the audience with fruitful results. So far, all reactions are powerful, we are very satisfied since everything is working perfectly, beyond expectations.

Can you name some particular inspirations for your music or do you prefer to submerge deep within yourselves disregarding any outside influence?

Our influences are infinite within the dark ambient / ritual ambient / classical music and electronic / drone scenes, but work for us only as additive experience and saturation of our vision. We prefer to delve into our psyche and draw inspiration from the higher tasks we set to perform and complete, we regard the music to be a continuation of the spiritual practice and a completion of the channeling.

I fell in love with your front cover. Actually I do not know if I even tried to understand what the image is meant to portray as I am just staring at it while listening to your album. What does the figure standing on the black sun represents?

As said and stated above, we would not wish to overrun through the  details and aesthetic, lyrical aspects of the album, since it would nullify the experience for the listener. There are no easy explanations and one sided allegories within the occult science the spiritual works, the listener should experience the whole album as one breathing entity, listen and read, view and experience, to be driven into his/her own conclusions.

The new album will be released on multiple formats, including limited vinyl editions. And the beautiful merchandise will be also ready. Do you personally like such rich packaging or was this rather an initiative of Agonia Records?

Everything becomes final and takes form after we have approved and given our personal stigma to the result. Our cooperation with Agonia Records has been fantastic, as they gave form to our Vision with a deluxe handling of all formats.

Do you already have some future plans that are set in stone or do you leave everything up to present wishes and ideas?

The only solid plan is to create and materialize our Vision, perspectives and ideas, and shall continue to do so. Within recordings, live rituals and collaborations, we will be continuously express the Higher Arts to channel the inner Flame and pay homage to the sources that grant us Inspiration.
